Ok couples! Time to find ontario wedding venues! You’ve gotten engaged, you’re over the moon…and now the planning begins.
I’m Clarissa, an Ontario wedding photographer whose here to help you explore Ontario Wedding Venues for the 2026/2027 wedding season!
When looking for ontario wedding venues, there’s some key points to first think about:
- size/layout – how many people can it accommodate
- vibe/ – what’s your wedding vibe?
- in-house vendors – does it do catering? have chairs and linens? will you have to bring all that in?
- price – the above points will also impact this!
- season – this will also impact the type of wedding you can have and cost
- location and accessibility – for guests, vendors and YOURSELVES
- restrictions and permits – can they host a party? are people allowed outdoors? Are fireworks ok?

I know that all of this sounds like it can be wildly overwhelming but knowing what to ask and where to look for it can help you pick the perfect venue for you!
Now, here’s where I get to spill the tea!
While I can’t necessarily help you with exact pricing, season and restrictions, what I CAN help you with is SIZE, LAYOUT, VIBE, LOCATION and HOW DOES IT PHOTOGRAPH!
Let’s start with…
Ontario Wedding Venue #1 – Waterstone Estates
Newmarket, Ontario
Guest size: 20-150 guests
Vibes: English garden, rustic chic, vintage or a rural elegance theme
As a photographer (and preferred vendor), there’s something I absolutely LOVE about shooting weddings at Waterstone.
1. Variety! Waterstone Estates offers so many options of where to host your ceremony. They have the barn, the field, the chapel, and the vine wall as options for your backdrop. They also have the space for you to have a tent in the back, and dinner in the main building. With this variety means lots of back up plans in case of rain, AND lots of different backdrops for your photos.
2. The team. Their team is awesome and super caring. One of my values is putting you and your partner first on your wedding day, and every time l’ve worked with Waterstone they demonstrate this! I also find that as a vendor, they take amazing care of you and make the day really easy.
3. Versatile design. I love how Waterstone can be made to match the aesthetic of your wedding. It’s relatively neutral in it’s own design, meaning you can dress it up to be an English garden, Italian villa-esque, country rustic, or even garden party in the field!
4. Sunsets!! Their sunsets are fantastic and golden hour here is *chefs kiss*. Enough said haha

Ontario Wedding Venue #2 – Three Feathers Terrace
Innisfil, Ontario
Guest size: minimum of 100 guests for Friday-Sunday weddings (May-Oct)
Vibes: modern and elegant, grand and airy
A new wedding venue on the scene in the past 2 years, Three Feathers Terrace is quickly becoming a favourite for couples in 2024 and 2025! Something I absolutely LOVE about shooting weddings at Three Feathers Terrace:
1. Modern Look! I looooove that TFT has a modern look and feel while also being surrounded by nature. Located near Innisfil, Ontario they have done an amazing job of creating a modern building and vibe while being surrounded by the countryside and nature. This contrast allows your wedding to have the best of both worlds, without having to choose over the city or the country!
2. Natural lighting! The ceremony and reception building has gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows that are designed to let in beautiful natural light! This is a photographer’s dream and if you’re lucky, you’ll be able watch a golden sunset on your wedding day. (smiley tearing up emoji)
3. Back Up Plans! TFT has a few ceremony site options, with one of them being indoors, so you already have a backup rain plan if needed! This relieves so much stress that can come from something as unpredictable as the weather.

Ontario Wedding Venue #3 – Heritage Estates Winery
Penetanguishene, Ontario
Guest size: 25-500 guests
Vibes: Modern, elevated rustic, vineyard, country garden
I shot my first wedding at Heritage Estates Winery in 2024 and I can’t wait to get the chance to go back again! Some things I absolutely LOVE about shooting weddings at Heritage Estates Winery:
1.Getting Ready Space! This is an underrated part of a wedding venue where you are getting ready on the premises! SO many of them are small and cramped with poor lighting. Heritage Estates has a beautifully spacious, light and bright space which makes those getting ready shots extra aesthetic.
2. Vineyard Romance! The European, old-world style, vintage look to a vineyard wedding is just timeless! Their white-wash brick house and romantic grounds are perfect for bridal portraits
3. Reception tent! reception tents come in all shapes and sizes… and the wedding tent at Heritage Estates is large and airy, but doesn’t even look like a tent from the inside! Strung with fairy lights and boasting large roll-up windows on 2 sides, it’s the perfect luxury tent space for a reception
4. The ceremony area is covered! Surprise rain forecast? No problem! A lot of venues have bad weather contingency plans that mean you have to entirely change locations for your ceremony, but not Heritage Estates. You can still get married overlooking the vineyards, as planned!
5. Guest Access! With lots of hotels and Airbnb’s nearby, it’s really accessible to guests who might need to stay overnight. Not far outside of Barrie and Orillia, there’s a lot of accommodations of varying price ranges nearby to help keep the party going!
