J+S originally had started planning their wedding near Toronto, Ontario and had hired me as their wedding photographer. I randomly got a phone call from J explaining that they were ditching their Canadian wedding plans, and would I photograph their wedding in Italy. I was thrilled, after having previously lived in Italy, to return and capture their wedding day. We even added a pre-wedding photoshoot in Florence (I’ll be adding this to the blog in the future)!

The birthplace of the Renaissance and one of the most romantic cities in the world, Florence is known for good food, good wine and good art. The rolling tuscan countryside with it’s breathtaking views and winding country roads offers a quiet, intimate and luxurious backdrop for your dream wedding in Italy.
J+S chose an Airbnb location for their family and friends to stay and have their ceremony on the grounds
J+S chose Tenuta di Rota, a 15th-century renovated villa only a 36-minute drive outside of Florence city-centre, to host their wedding ‘ week’ and their ceremony and reception. Tenuta di Rota hosts several apartment/flat-style accommodations for guests dotting the Tuscan hillside – all a 5-15 minute walk up the hill the the Grand Palazzo Villa, where 18 of the couples family and friends resided for a week. This was the perfect backdrop for a Tuscan wedding.
