This year saw more and more couples ditching their at-home wedding plans and traveling abroad instead! Couples seem to be favouring smaller, more intimate parties, breathtaking wedding venues, and budget-conscious planning (the economy is not on zillenial’s side). One of the top destinations for couples to say ‘I do’ in was none other than bella Italia – Italy! From the regions of Tuscany to Puglia, I’m taking you along with me to peek inside two stunning Italian weddings I had the pleasure to photograph in 2024! Click here for volume II.
Puglia, Italy
where the olive groves and Mediterranean Sea meet
For anyone might need a little brush up on their Italian geography, Puglia sits at the heel of Italy’s ‘boot’. It’s known for it’s white-washed hilltop towns and has the moniker “Florence of the south”. Bordering on the Mediterranean, it offers both crystal clear seas and olive trees.

A+J chose a VRBO rental to host their wedding week and ceremony + reception
When A+J approached me to photograph their wedding in Puglia, I couldn’t be more excited! Their venue was timeless, historic minimalism at it’s finest and had the most luxurious aura to it. Masseria Quadrelli‘s rental property can host up to 36 people, has 11 bedrooms and 11+ bathrooms. An 11 minute drive to the beach and 12 minutes to Zinzulusa Caves, it makes for the perfect intimate italian wedding venue.
With family roots in the area, Puglia not only had a familial tie for me but offered so many opportunities for stunning photo ops – adding to the timeless romantic aesthetic of A+J’s day. My photography style prioritizes authentic captures; my candid-yet-guided approach to story-telling allowing for natural moments to develop but also making sure to capture high-end and timeless moments. I was honoured to accompany A+J to their wedding in Puglia – keep scrolling to see some gallery peeks!
“we were so lucky to have her [Clarissa] in Italy with us – she smashed it!”

Wedding day details are so important to capture – the set the story and help remind you of all the little moments of your day
“All I can say is book Clarissa as your photographer immediately! She took our vision and captured our engagement party, welcome dinner + wedding perfectly. She is immensely talented and also has the business background to provide an extremely stress-free experience.”

capturing those candid, in-between moments is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day

Ceremony set up at Masseria Quadrelli allowed for rain or shine. It seriously POURED rain this entire day, but you’d never be able to tell!
